Vice president Shettima appeals to ex-senators to support President Tinubu

Nigeria’s Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima on Wednesday 19th, July 2023 made an appeal to former senators to support the administration of President Bola Tinubu, while describing him as a leader with genuine interest and plans to transform the country.
Speaking to a delegation comprising his former colleagues from the 9th Senate who were on a courtesy visit to him at the Presidential Villa. The Vice President while addressing his former colleagues stated that,
“President Bola Tinubu is a good man, I will urge all of us to rally around and support him.”
“I want to assure you that I will work with you in the interest of our nation. What binds us together as a family and a nation supersedes whatever that divides us,” Vice President Shettima added.
Earlier in his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Sen. Philip Aduda, said the visit was not partisan as the composition of the group comprised members across different political affiliations who are united for the progress of the country.

The Director of Information of the Office of the Vice President, Olusola Abiola said in a press elease that Senator Aduda pledged the Senators’ support for the Tinubu administration and prayed for the success of its policies and programmes.
In the same vein, Senator George Sekibo expressed absolute confidence in the capacity, humility and depth of knowledge of the Vice President to effectively impact the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration. Similarly,he reassured the VP of their loyalty and solidarity at all times.
