Why Kylian Mbappé will not accept Al Hilal’s €259 million offer

Since the last transfer window in January, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) striker, Kylian Mbappé has been in the news of a possible transfer to Real Madrid and both the player and the Spanish club managed to survive what almost led to a fight between his current club and Madrid.

Now that another transfer – the summer transfer window is just heating up Mbappé is in the news again and this time it is between him and his club, PSG.

The 24-year-old has refused to speak up concerning his future with PSG despite the latter issuing a statement asking the player to either extend his contract or leave but that threat was doused by the French FA warning clubs in Europe not to force any of its players on a contract.

It is pertinent to note that at the commencement of the summer transfer window, we have witnessed a plethora of players particular from the English Premier League (EPL) migrating to the Saudi Arabia (Saudi Pro League) to continue with their career.

First was the former Manchester United player, Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club in December to Al Nassr in a rather unpleasant way for a professional player of that magnitude just because of the money as rightly put by the Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo.

Then followed by players from Chelsea, Ngolo Kante, Kalidou Koulibaly, among others from the EPL and not to forget Madrid’s Karim Benzema.

Mbappé’s case is very peculiar due to his level in international football and he is in his prime.

Neptune Prime would like to predict that it is unlikely for Mbappé to accept the offer based on some established facts.

The French international still has a lot to offer in European football which is unarguably the centre stage of global football.

While the likes of Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Benzema have reached the summit of their football career winning domestic titles, UEFA Champions League (UCL) trophies and the prestigious Ballon d’Or, Mbappé is yet to clinch either the UCL trophy or the Ballon d’Or while at PSG.

These two important collections as far as global football is concerned can only be achieved if a player is doing exploits in European clubs and not just any European clubs it must be top leagues in Europe.

While Messi is gradually leaving the park and Ronaldo is following suit there is no doubt Mbappé wouldn’t want to miss the opportunity to join a club as vibrant as Madrid if truly he wants to leave PSG this summer but with all certainty, the French player is leaving the club next summer as he is left with just year in his contract.

Al Hilal may have presented their bid for Mbappé and according to reports it has been accepted by PSG although, Mbappé might have won the World Cup with France in 2018 we can say with all certainty that his eyes are still on the Ballon d’Or and UCL trophy.

Only time will tell as events unfold in the transfer window.
