NACCIMA’s President felicitates with CGC, seeks collaboration

The Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, recently welcomed a delegation from the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) at the Customs Headquarters. Led by NACCIMA President, Dele Kelvin Oye, the group visited to explore ways of fostering a prosperous and cooperative trade future for Nigeria.

During the meeting, President Oye commended the CGC for his outstanding leadership and efforts in elevating the Nigeria Customs Service and its role in regulating the country’s trade industries. He also highlighted the importance of addressing issues related to certificates of origin. NACCIMA reassured the Customs Service of its unwavering support in all aspects of their operations.

In response, Comptroller-General Adeniyi expressed his gratitude for the kind words and support. He reaffirmed the Service’s commitment to collaboration with NACCIMA in order to achieve success in trade facilitation. Recognizing the significance of stakeholder engagement, the CGC emphasized the need for a joint effort in organizing a Sensitization Workshop that would benefit both parties.

Furthermore, President Oye requested the Customs Service to educate NACCIMA members on the recently enacted Nigeria Customs Service Act, 2023. The CGC assured him of their commitment to involving and informing the association about relevant developments in the field.

Overall, this meeting sets a positive tone for enhanced collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and NACCIMA. With their mutual dedication to promoting trade and supporting Nigerian businesses, this partnership promises to contribute to a thriving economic landscape in the country.
