Kano protests ECOWAS’ Niger intervention
Kano State citizens have expressed their dissatisfaction with the proposed use of force to address the coup crisis in Niger Republic.
A viral video on social media reveals that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), led by Nigeria’s president, Bola Tinubu, has directed its standing force to remain prepared for potential action aimed at restoring constitutional order in Niger.

Throughout the Kano metropolis, demonstrators could be heard chanting, “Nigeriens are our brothers; they are also part of our family. Niger belongs to all of us. We stand against war; aggression towards Niger is unjust and orchestrated by external forces.”
Protesters proudly displayed the flags of both Nigeria and Niger while holding placards adorned with anti-war slogans.
