Ogun police apprehend man found with recent corpse
Police in Ogun State have apprehended a man named Babatunde Kolawole, who was allegedly found in possession of a recently deceased male body.
The incident occurred in the Ado/Odo-Ota area of the state, and it was Amotekun corps who first spotted and detained the suspect.
SP Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), revealed these details in a statement released on Sunday in Ota, Ogun.
She explained that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sango-Ota, CSP Saleh Dahiru, received a report from Amotekun and promptly took Kolawole into custody.

“Preliminary investigations into the incident have already begun,” Odutola stated.
She added, “While the suspect has not denied the incident, he claims to be a native doctor attempting to revive the deceased. However, it remains unclear how the suspect obtained the fresh corpse during the late hours of the night.”
As of now, no one has stepped forward to claim the body, and the suspect has not provided any information about the origin of the corpse, hindering the police’s ability to gather more information and solve the case.
Consequently, the corpse has been transported to Ifo General Hospital for an autopsy.
Odutola urged members of the community to share any useful information related to the incident with the police.
She emphasized that the community’s cooperation could greatly assist in shedding more light on this disturbing occurrence.
