Pastor allegedly swindles woman’s N4.5 million car with false prophecy
A 30-year-old cleric, Pastor Destiny Moses, has found himself in trouble in Lagos State after allegedly using a fake prophecy to deceive a 30-year-old woman, Elizabeth Light Olubukola.
The incident took place at No. 9 Kings Avenue in the Ijedodo area of Lagos, where Pastor Moses resides.
Believing his supposed divine revelation, Elizabeth handed over her KIA saloon car, valued at N4.5 million, to Pastor Moses as a seed offering. Additionally, she included her N800,000 worth Apple laptop, complying with his instructions. In total, the items she sowed as a seed were valued at N5.3 million.
Elizabeth returned home, expecting her prayers to be answered as Pastor Moses had assured. However, her family was shocked when they realized she had given away the car registered under the family company’s name, Bumedel Global Resources Limited.

They confronted her, stating that the car belonged to the company and that she had no right to use it for such a purpose.
In response, the family reported the matter to the Isheri Oshun Division of the Police, leading to Pastor Moses’ arrest.
During interrogation, Moses admitted to selling the car to Chikezie Ameachi, 42, without disclosing the sale amount. Subsequently, Ameachi was also arrested for receiving a stolen car.
Both Pastor Moses and Ameachi pleaded not guilty when they were arraigned in court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, requested a hearing date to allow the Police to prove their alleged offense.
Magistrate Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman granted bail to Pastor Moses and Amaechi, setting the amounts at N750,000 and N450,000 respectively, along with sureties of equal value.
Pending bail fulfillment, they were remanded in custody at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
The case was adjourned until October 24, 2023, for mention.
