Celebration rocks Borno as gov’t targets 1.8m households to benefit from paliative

Over 1.8 million households in Borno State have expressed joy as state government begins distribution of paliatives to alleviate the impact of fuel subsidy removal.

The distribution of paliatives is a Borno state intervention programme meant to cushion the hardship faced in the state by average income earners.

According to Borno Community Watch (BCW), the executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum flagged off the distribution of paliatives to the households in Muna part of Maiduguri, the state capital.

Those benefited from the palliatives

 

During an interview in the early hours of Tuesday with newsmen, the Governor stated that he has distributed paliatives in Gwoza, Bama, Baga, Doron Baga and Cross Kauwa and he is in Muna area to continue the phase one of the paliative distribution where the state government is targeting 1.8m households to benefit from the intervention programme.

He said that the programme has been planned into six phases, he mentioned that more measures are going to be taken to enable the Borno State Government give dividends of democracy to its citizens.

Zulum called on the good people of Borno State to be patient as the government has taken all measures to relieve the stress on its citizens.
