Sterling, a former Manchester City player opened the scoreline for the Blues with a strike from his left foot shot from the centre of the box to the bottom left corner to make it 1-0.
Chelsea were able to hold on to the lead for 30 minutes before half-time.
It was a shaky start for the Blues at the start of the season after a 1-1 draw with Liverpool, losing 3-1 to West Ham United last week Sunday.
However, that did not deter Mauricio Pochettino and his boys as Sterling doubled the lead to make it 2-0 twenty-five minutes after the break.
Luton failed to impress losing ball possessions to their hosts which gave opportunity to Jackson to make it 3-0 after a right footed shot from a close range to the bottom left corner.
Chelsea are currently eighth on the table with four points.
