Customs acting CGC decorates management team members, urges commitment to service

In a symbolic ceremony held at the Customs Headquarters in Abuja, the Acting Comptroller-General of Customs (CGC), Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, decorated six members of his Management Team and called for their unwavering commitment and dedication to the success of the Nigeria Customs Service.

Highlighting their exceptional dedication and service, the appointments of three Deputy Comptrollers-General and three Assistant Comptrollers-General were made, marking the first time the Acting CGC, CG Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, has adorned members of the Service’s Management Team since assuming office on June 19, 2023, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.

President Tinubu’s approval came less than two months after the Acting CGC’s appointment. Festus Okun, Musa Baba Abdullahi, and Albashir Hamisu were appointed as Deputy Comptroller Generals (DCGs), while Kamardeen Olumoh, Auwal Mohammed, and Adeogun Alajogun were appointed as Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACGs).

During the decorating ceremony, the Acting CGC emphasized the expectations placed upon the newly promoted officers and urged them to renew their commitment and dedication to adding value to the Nigeria Customs Service. He expressed confidence in their ability to meet the high expectations and promote the service.

Deputy Comptroller General of Customs, Festus Okun, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the newly appointed DCGs, thanking President Tinubu for his unwavering belief in their capabilities. He assured that they would discharge their responsibilities with the utmost professionalism.
