Customs uncover 1,245 live ammo hidden in rice bags

The Ogun State Area 1 Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has seized 1,245 live ammunition concealed within 203 bags of foreign rice.
The rice bags were abandoned along a bush path near Tombolo Junction, close to the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Customs Area 1 Comptroller, Bamidele Makinde, revealed this development in the state capital, Abeokuta.

The seized ammunition holds an estimated duty paid value of N17,637.
An ongoing investigation aims to uncover the individuals responsible for the attempted smuggling.
The command has urged residents to provide valuable information that could aid in the investigation.
