DSS detains Abuja-Kaduna train manager, staff over leaked memo

The Department of State Services (DSS) has taken the Manager of Abuja-Kaduna Train Services, Pascal Nnorli, into custody following the leak of a memo warning about a potential terror attack on the Abuja-Kaduna railway.

According to an undisclosed source within the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Nnorli was arrested alongside the Operations Manager, Victor Adamu, and other staff members.

Last week, the DSS issued a security alert to the Nigerian Railway Corporation, stating that bandits were planning an attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train link. The memo, signed by the Director of the DSS’s FCT Command, R.N. Adepemu, urged passengers to remain vigilant.

Speaking with News Point Nigeria, the source revealed that Nnorli and Adamu were apprehended last Thursday. While Adamu has been released, Nnorli remains in custody.

The source speculated that the arrests are likely related to the leak of the DSS memo. The leaked letter, which contained sensitive information about the attack, was addressed to the Managing Director of the NRC and explicitly warned that any leaks could result in arrests.

Although the Managing Director, Fidet Okhiria, declined to comment on the matter when contacted, the source suggested that the memo had been dropped off at Nnorli’s office, from where it eventually made its way to the media, causing public exposure.

The motive behind the arrests and whether there will be further developments in the case is yet to be determined.
