Final-Year Enugu student found dead in her room with male companion reportedly battling for life

Miss Mbah Ezinne, a final-year student of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, has been found dead in her room. The lifeless body of Ezinne, a student of the Department of Anatomy, was found on Sunday in her apartment after she was not seen in her church.

It was gathered that on Sunday after Church service began, friends and family attempted to reach Ezinne through calls, but her phone was continuously unreachable.

Concerned about her absence and silence, worry grew among those who knew her as efforts to contact her proved abortive.

It was learnt that her mobile phone remained switched off throughout the morning, deepening the sense of unease.

The young lady who was a highly-regarded member of her church community and actively engaged in various aspects of university life, stirred concern when she failed to show up at the church service on the morning of July 30.

Sadly, on Monday morning, Ezinne’s lifeless body was found in her apartment, sending shockwaves of disbelief and waves of sorrow rippling through her family, friends and academic circle.

Ezinne and her male friend were found in her room, after law enforcement agents forcefully gained entry into her residence, and without delay, they were swiftly taken to the hospital.

It was reported that Ezinne’s brother Stephen, who expressed deep concern about her safety and unavailability on Sunday, embarked on the journey with some of his friends to her residence in Enugu.

It was learnt that when they arrived at Ezinne’s apartment in Enugu by Monday afternoon, peering through her window, they found Ezinne and a male friend, who happened to be her coursemate, lying on the floor.

Overwhelmed by shock and disbelief, Stephen tried to access the apartment but was advised by neighbours to involve the police before any further action would be taken.

Faced with the grim scene, they wisely refrained from entering the apartment and sought the assistance of the local authorities.

The local authorities were summoned, and the victims were taken to the hospital.

On arrival at the hospital, Ezinne was pronounced dead, while her male friend whose identity was yet to be ascertained was revived.

He is still battling for life as at the time this report was filed.
