Gabon’s President’s son arrested on treason charges amid coup
In a shocking turn of events, one of the sons of Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba has been arrested on charges of “treason.”
Additionally, the ousted president himself has been placed under house arrest, along with several members of his family.

A statement released on state TV revealed, “President Ali Bongo is currently under house arrest, surrounded by his family and medical personnel.”
The coup took place in the early hours of Wednesday, resulting in the annulment of Saturday’s election, in which Bongo had been declared the winner.
