Five men in Jigawa arrested for gang-raping 14-year-old girl
The Jigawa State Police Command has taken swift action in apprehending five suspects believed to be involved in the gang-raping 14-year-old girl in the Jahun Local Government Area of the state.
The arrests were confirmed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, in a statement released on Tuesday night.

The suspects, identified as Aliyu Sani (50), Rabi’u Ibrahim (45), Idris Haruna (38), Hussain Mato (32), and Rabi’u Inuwa (50), were taken into custody following the heinous act that occurred on July 8, 2023. The incident transpired when the young girl, who had ventured out to sell Tofu (Awara), was lured into the room of Aliyu Sani. In an appalling turn of events, all four men reportedly took turns to sexually assault her.
After the arrests, both the suspects and the victim were transferred to the Sexual Assault Referral Center in Dutse for medical examination.
The examination revealed that one of the suspects tested positive for HIV, while another tested positive for hepatitis. These findings highlight the severity of the crime committed.
The Jigawa State Police Command has assured the public that the suspects will be promptly brought before the court to face legal consequences for their despicable actions.
