Gov. Buni approves N667 million payment to 475 local gov’t retirees

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, has approved the disbursement of funds for local government pensioners across the 17 local government councils within the state.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General of Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, on Thursday.

According to the statement, an amount of Six Hundred and Sixty-Seven Million, Forty-Five Thousand, Four Hundred and Forty-One Naira, Twenty-Two Kobo (N667,045,441.22) has been earmarked for the payment of 475 local government pensioners.
It further indicated that the Governor has given the go-ahead for the screening and verification process to be conducted for pensioners within the local government councils.
“The Committee has verified a total of 475 beneficiaries and hereby attached are lists of beneficiaries and a summary categorized by local government areas for both living and deceased Pensioners,” the approval notice stated.
