Gov. Makinde approves car loan initiative for Oyo primary school teachers

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved the immediate release of car loans to primary school teachers across all zones of the state.
The Coordinating Director of Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Jacob Dairo, revealed in a statement issued in Ibadan that the initiative is a proactive measure to support the teachers during these challenging times.
Dairo said that the car loan, intended to mitigate the economic difficulties faced by the teachers, will be disbursed in installments to alleviate the impact of the nationwide economic crisis.

He said Governor Makinde personally endorsed the loan programme, and emphasised the importance of equitable distribution with instructions that no preferential treatment be given to anyone.
The coordinating director underscored the importance of responsible utilisation of the loan by the beneficiaries, urging them to use the funds for good purposes.
The financial institutions responsible for the loan will grant the facility on the condition that it will be repaid within 40 months, as specified by Dairo.
In a related development, the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Salihu Abdulwaheed, expressed the state government’s commitment to collaborate with all stakeholders within the education sector.
During a visit to the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board Directorate, Prof. Abdulwaheed affirmed that the government plans to employ additional teachers for the basic education sub-sector in due course.
He further assured that comprehensive training for staff members will be prioritised to ensure holistic success, echoing the sentiments expressed by Dairo.
