Gunmen attack palace in Nasarawa State, kidnap Emir of Gurku, wife
Gunmen have kidnapped the Emir of Gurku, Jibrin Mohammed, and his wife from their palace in Nasarawa State.
Nasarawa Sate Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the abduction of the highly respected monarch which happened at the palace located just a few kilometres away from the Mararraba main town in Karu Local Government Area on Sunday night.

DSP Nansel said upon receiving a distress call, a combined team of police officers and vigilant groups swiftly mobilised and thoroughly searched the surrounding bushes in an attempt to locate the victims. Regrettably, they were unable to find any trace of the abductees.
“In an ongoing effort to ensure the safe rescue of the Emir and his wife, additional personnel from the Police Tactical Team, Anti-Kidnapping Unit, and other authorities from the Karu Area Command have been deployed to the area. Their expertise and dedicated efforts are focused on bringing the perpetrators to justice and reuniting the victims with their loved ones.
The entire community is deeply concerned and praying for the safe return of the Emir and his wife. The authorities are resolute in their commitment to resolving this matter and restoring peace and security to the region. They are working tirelessly to ensure the prompt and safe release of the esteemed Emir and his beloved wife.
