On Monday, August 21, 2023, President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet nominees solemnly took their oaths of office at the hallowed halls of the Presidential Villa.
The path to the swearing-in ceremony began with the nomination of 28 individuals for ministerial positions. Subsequently, President Tinubu submitted an additional 19 names to the Senate for screening, ultimately setting the stage for today’s inauguration ceremony.
The State House Conference Centre was abuzz with anticipation and excitement as these distinguished men and women embarked on their new roles in service to the nation.
The event followed closely on the heels of President Tinubu’s strategic reshuffling of his cabinet, marking a swift response to public demand.

On the eve of the inauguration, President Tinubu made a significant announcement, appointing Engr. Abubakar Momoh from Edo State as the substantive Minister for Niger Delta Development. This decision was a direct response to the passionate appeals from the region, which had felt neglected in the initial portfolio allocation.
Among the prominent figures now steering the ship of Nigeria’s ministries are Nyesom Wike, former Rivers State governor, who will oversee the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Festus Keyamo, who takes the helm at the Ministry of Aviation.
