Jos Electricity Distribution announces 6-day power outage in Plateau, Bauchi, Gombe

The Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) has announced that customers in Plateau, Bauchi, and Gombe states will experience a six-day power outage from August 28th to September 2nd.

This planned outage will occur daily from 9 am to 5 pm during this period.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Dr. Friday Elijah, Head of Corporate Communications at JED, on Saturday in Jos.

Dr. Elijah explained that the planned outage, orchestrated by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), is necessary to facilitate installations by their Local Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors.

He further elaborated, “The TCN’s planned outage is to safely connect the gantry beam of the new APO line to the existing Lafia line-Jos 330kV double circuit. It’s important to note that there will be an increase in load shedding during this period, as the 330kV Jos complex will continue to receive power via the Kaduna-Jos 330kV line.”

Dr. Elijah urged customers to exercise patience and understanding during this outage, assuring them that JED is committed to enhancing service delivery to its customers in the affected states.
