Kebbi authorities launch manhunt in wake of Customs officers’ deaths

During a routine stop-and-search operation along the Bunza – Dakingari – Koko Road in Kebbi State, a team of Nigeria Customs officers came under heavy gunfire from individuals suspected to be bandits, who were driving a red Toyota Corolla.

The two officers who tragically lost their lives have been identified as Inspector Alhaji Kabiru Shehu and Customs Assistant II, Abdullahi Muhammad. In accordance with Islamic traditions, these fallen heroes have been laid to rest.

In response to this senseless act, the Kebbi Area Command has launched a determined manhunt to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice.

Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Ben Oramalugo, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased officers and offered prayers for strength during this difficult time.

Comptroller Oramalugo also appealed to the public to actively engage in the fight against smuggling and criminal activities.

As a testament to his commitment, he assured informants of absolute confidentiality and encouraged everyone to provide any valuable information that could assist in the apprehension of suspected criminals.
