Kwara boy with 9As in WAEC wins 15 awards at graduation
In an exceptional demonstration of academic excellence, Master Ololade Adesina, who achieved nine A1s in the 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC), was honoured with 15 prestigious awards during the 15th graduation ceremony at Rehoboth College in Ilorin.
Adesina’s remarkable performance earned him the titles of Best Student in Data Processing, Civic Education, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics, among others.

He was also recognized with the Barr. Adimula Award for Excellence in Mathematics and English Language, the Ifeoluwa Tomiwa Makinde Award for Overall Best Student, the Mr. Alaofin Award for Excellence in Chemistry, and the Mr. and Mrs. Makinwa Award for Excellence in Economics. Additionally, he received the Mr. Àjàyí Award for the Best Graduating Student of Rehoboth College.
Expressing his gratitude in his valedictory speech, Adesina praised the teaching staff for their unwavering commitment to their students’ academic success.
He attributed his exceptional performance in the WASSCE examinations, where he achieved nine A1s, to the dedication and tireless efforts of his teachers.
Adesina emphasized that the school’s firm stance against examination malpractice, both internally and externally, fostered an environment of hard work and propelled him to success.
This momentous event, attended by several dignitaries, also marked the 20th anniversary of Rehoboth College’s establishment. Mr. Sam Popoola, the school’s proprietor, expressed gratitude to God for the successful completion of the academic year.
He proudly highlighted the outstanding performances of the junior and senior students in external examinations like WASSCE, NECO, and JAMB, culminating in Adesina’s remarkable achievement of nine A1s in all subjects offered.
As Professor Alfred Adegoke, a renowned Professor of Education and Chairman of the Board of Governors at Rehoboth Schools, conveyed his goodwill message, he echoed the proprietor’s sentiments regarding the school’s commendable growth.
Applauding the efforts of the teaching staff and management, Adegoke emphasized that the school is destined for greatness in light of its recent academic accomplishments.
He challenged the teachers to continue breaking records, citing Dada Omotayo, a former student of Rehoboth College, as an example.
