Nigerian content creators on Twitter have begun receiving payments for displaying ads on their feeds.

These creators have taken to the platform to showcase the varying sums they’ve received from X, formerly known as Twitter.

The company has outlined specific criteria for eligibility, including verification, a follower count of at least 500, and garnering five million impressions. The ad revenue-sharing initiative, which started in the US in July, has now been extended globally.

Twitter content creators and social media influencers in Nigeria are now benefiting from this program, and many of them have expressed gratitude to Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, for motivating them to produce engaging content and stay active on the platform.

Eligibility for payment entails being verified or subscribed to Twitter Blue, securing a minimum of five million impressions on posts every three months, and passing a human review based on Creator Monetization Standards.

Furthermore, users must possess a Stripe account for payment processing. To access this program, eligible users can set up payments within the Monetization section of the app, available on the iOS and Android platforms as well as on the web.

It’s important to note that X retains the right to modify or terminate the program at its discretion, citing reasons including business or legal considerations. The company emphasizes compliance with the Ads Revenue Program Terms to ensure participation in the ad revenue share program.

In response to this opportunity, content creators have displayed their payment receipts, showing appreciation for the chance to monetize their efforts on the platform.

This move by X, formerly Twitter, marks a significant step in recognizing and rewarding content creators worldwide.
