Police in Katsina foil bandit kidnap, recover livestock

In Katsina State, the police successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt by bandits in Ruwan Lafiya village, located in the Kankara local government area.

Following a fierce exchange of gunfire with the armed bandits, law enforcement managed to rescue Hashim Yusuf, a 65-year-old who had been kidnapped. Additionally, they seized 94 cows, 17 sheep, and two motorcycles.

The incident began with a distress call received at the Kankara Divisional Police Headquarters, alerting them to the movement of suspected bandits from Hayin Gada in Malumfashi LGA.

Quickly responding to the call, the police confronted the armed criminals who were attempting to escape the area with their victim.

Abubakar Sadiq, the police spokesperson in the state, praised the officers for their exceptional courage and professional skills, which enabled them to overpower the bandits and rescue the victim unharmed.

During the subsequent investigation of the scene, 94 cows, 17 sheep, and two motorcycles were recovered.
