The trial focused on three charges: Discreditable Conduct involving Defamation of Character, Culpable Homicide, and Unlawful Exercise of Authority, which are violations of the Police Act and Regulations.

After careful consideration, the Command found both officers guilty and recommended the punishment of dismissal. They will now face charges in court along with other individuals involved in the case.

As a consequence of their actions, the Police Constable has been de-kitted, while the Inspector will also undergo the de-kitting process after completing necessary administrative procedures.

A video capturing the moment Mahmood Muhammed was being de-kitted has emerged, showcasing his emotional display as he faced the consequences of his misconduct.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola, has used this incident as an opportunity to remind all officers and men within the Command to prioritise punctuality and refrain from engaging in any activities that undermine discipline.
