Sanusi holds closed-door meeting with President Tinubu after visiting Niger coup leaders
President Bola Tinubu and the esteemed 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, engaged in a confidential meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday night.
This encounter follows Sanusi’s recent visit to Niger Republic, where he met with the military junta responsible for the seizure of power from democratically elected President Muhamad Bazoum.

Arriving at the Presidential Villa around 8:25pm, the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor joined the discussion immediately after a prominent delegation of the Nigeria Islamic Ulama met with President Tinubu. When questioned about his visit to Niger, Sanusi responded with a simple, “It’s fine.”
As of the time this report was filed, Sanusi and Tinubu continued their meeting behind closed doors, engaging in discussions of crucial importance.
The outcome of their conversation remains undisclosed for now.
