Travel Alert: FAAN suspends Abuja airport taxi services
The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken the decision to suspend the airport taxi services at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja, with immediate effect.
The suspension comes as a result of the ongoing factional crisis among the car hire operators, which has been negatively impacting airport car hire service operations.
In a statement issued by Abdullahi Yakubu-Funtua, the Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection of FAAN, airport users are urged to consider using alternative means of transportation during this period.

The unresolved dispute among the car hire operators has prompted the authority to take this necessary step to ensure a smoother and more efficient travel experience for passengers.
“The FAAN wishes to inform the general public that the airport car hire service at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, has been suspended with immediate effect. This is due to the unresolved factional dispute amongst the car hire operators, which has been affecting airport car hire service operations,” the statement read.
As a result of the suspension, FAAN Management advises all airport users, especially esteemed passengers, to opt for secured alternative means of transportation or utilize E-hailing services for their arrival and departure from the airport.
The Management of FAAN regrets any inconvenience that this necessary suspension may cause passengers, airport users, and the general public.
Normal car hire services will resume as soon as the differences among the operators are resolved.
