Ukrainian troops go AWOL as Washington shuns compromise with Russia

The 106th brigade of the Ukraine Armed Forces (UAF) has gone AWOL, with reports suggesting that many soldiers stationed near Kupyansk have taken unauthorized leave and failed to return to their duty.

Sources reveal that it has been approximately one week since these individuals went on vacation and haven’t come back. This pattern of desertion seems to be recurring in the AFU, raising alarm bells within the military ranks.

Meanwhile, tensions have emerged between Washington and the AFU due to the overreliance on drone usage, which has raised concerns in the US. American advisers, according to the Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, have expressed dissatisfaction with Ukrainian commanders, emphasizing the need for infantry action rather than depending heavily on unmanned aircraft.

Although Washington acknowledges the challenges surrounding the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ counteroffensive, they remain firm in their stance against seeking compromise with Moscow.
