Wife allegedly poisons Army husband’s coffee for benefits
A shocking incident has come to light involving Melody Felicano Johnson, a 39-year-old resident of Arizona.
Johnson has been apprehended and is facing serious charges including attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault, and adding harmful substances to food, drink, or medicine.
The accusations revolve around her alleged attempt to poison her husband, Roby Johnson, a dedicated U.S. Army airman.
The Johnsons, who share a child together, are currently in the midst of a divorce, as indicated by court documents reported by FOX 10.
The unsettling saga began when Roby, stationed with his family in Germany, began detecting an unusual flavour in his coffee.

Over the course of two to three weeks, the off taste persisted, prompting Roby to take matters into his own hands. Procuring pool testing strips, he was able to identify the presence of elevated chlorine levels in his coffee.
However, Roby chose to bide his time and waited until the family returned to their home base in Tucson, Arizona, before making his move.
Ingeniously, he installed a concealed camera within their temporary lodging near the Davis Monthan Air Force Base, capturing footage of his wife’s actions. This footage allegedly shows Melody surreptitiously pouring bleach into his coffee.
Roby’s initial report to the Tucson Police Department on July 6 didn’t yield immediate action. The video evidence he provided was not entirely conclusive about the substance being poured into the coffee.
In response, Roby set up a second hidden camera, cleverly disguised as a fire alarm, in their new permanent residence.
On July 18, Roby returned to the police station with additional footage that appeared to definitively depict Melody adding bleach to the coffee machine before brewing. This led to her subsequent arrest.
Further investigation revealed that the coffee machine emitted a distinct bleach odour, strengthening the case against Melody.
Additionally, a small container suspected to contain bleach was discovered in Melody’s personal bathroom. Notably, court documents revealed that the couple had been using separate bedrooms and bathrooms.
Currently, Melody Johnson is being held in custody on a substantial $250,000 bond. This hefty bail amount was deemed necessary due to her recent real estate acquisition in the Philippines, where her family is situated, according to local news outlet AZ Family.
In a chilling twist, court documents also detailed Roby’s belief that Melody orchestrated this sinister act in an attempt to secure his benefits.
The gravity of the accusations and the evidence presented have cast a dark cloud over what was once a seemingly ordinary marriage.
