Woman in police net for conspiring to kill husband
An American woman, Lindsay Shiver, 36, from Thomasville, Georgia, has been arrested and charged in the Bahamas for conspiring to kill her husband, Robert Shiver, following their divorce filing. Prosecutors claim that Lindsay conspired with two locals, Terrance Adrian Bethel, 28, and Farron Newbold Jr., 29, to carry out the murder on July 16 while on the Abaco Islands.
The plot was unraveled thanks to crucial information found on a phone recovered during a separate criminal investigation into a local business break-in. Police foiled the plan after discovering written messages on the phone indicating the existence of the sinister plot.

The defendants appeared in court for arraignment, represented by their attorneys, but did not enter pleas. They have been remanded to the Bahamas corrections department until their hearing on October 5.
Lindsay and Robert Shiver, both alumni of Auburn University, reside in Thomasville and had filed for divorce. Robert cited Lindsay’s “adulterous conduct” as a reason for the divorce, stating that their marriage is irreparably broken. Lindsay, in her filing, mentioned incurring debt beyond her means and requested Robert be held responsible for it.
It appears that the couple has spent significant time in the Bahamas, as depicted in pictures on Lindsay Shiver’s social media account. While Robert Shiver’s company’s website correctly identifies him, court documents in the Bahamas mistakenly identify him as Richard Shiver.
