Commercial motorcycle riders stone Jos driver to death
A tragic incident occurred in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State after a mob of commercial motorcycle riders took the law into their own hands and lynched a young taxi driver named Fwimbe Thomas to death.
According to sources, the incident occurred after Thomas allegedly brushed against a commercial motorcycle with his taxi, triggering a furious response from the motorcyclists who beat him mercilessly.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found Thomas lying in a pool of his own blood with multiple head injuries he sustained from the mob attack.
The spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police, Okoro Julius, strongly condemned the unlawful act.
He said, “Upon receiving a report of the incident on 25/09/2023 at around 10:30 PM, the police patrol team from Anglo-Jos Division swiftly responded, they discovered the victim next to a damaged Suzuki mini bus with registration number KWK 536 XA.
“Thomas was immediately rushed to the Plateau Specialist Hospital, where a medical doctor pronounced him dead. The police have taken photographs of the victim, towed the vehicle to the station, and the body has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for an autopsy.

“In light of this tragic event, the Commissioner of Police assured the residents and the public that the police are actively working to apprehend the killers of Mr. Fwimbe Thomas,” he said.
The spokesman called for calm and assured that the security agents are already taking decisive action to address the situation.
