Kano Assembly honours heroic tricyclist who returned N15 million to Chadian owner

Members of the Kano State House of Assembly have pledged to contribute a percentage of their salaries to honour the young tricycle rider who returned a forgotten 15 million Naira to its Chadian owner.
This heartwarming gesture followed a motion of personal explanation presented by Alhaji Salisu Muhammad, a member representing Doguwa constituency, during a plenary session chaired by Speaker Alhaji Isma’il Jibril Falgore.

As reported by Daily Trust, 22-year-old tricycle rider Auwalu Salisu demonstrated exceptional integrity by returning the substantial sum of N15 million, for which he received a modest reward of 400 Thousand Naira from the owner. This act of honesty came despite the economic challenges faced by his family and the nation.
The motion presented by Muhammad received unanimous support from all 40 members representing Kano’s 44 local government areas.
They expressed their admiration for Auwalu’s character and pledged their support to motivate him while encouraging others to follow his example.
In a separate development, the House addressed the conversion of a vocational training centre in the Gwarmai area of the state into a government technical college, located in Ghari Local Government Area.
Grateful well-wishers and individuals have been generously donating clothes and money to the young man who returned the forgotten 15 million Naira.
Additionally, his parents received commendation and received clothing and financial assistance for instilling such values in their son.
Sources from the Kano government house indicate that the state government plans to honor the tricyclist in the near future.
Another motion, moved by Alhaji Garba Ya’u Gwarmai, the member representing Ghari/Tsanyawa, outlined how this elevation would significantly improve educational standards in Kano North and the entire state.
After thorough deliberation, the House adopted the motion and called on the state government to advance the vocational training centre to the status of a technical college.
The House adjourned its sitting until Tuesday, following a motion moved by the Majority Leader, Alhaji Lawan Hussaini Dala.
