Kano man rushes to court over wife’s threat to recircumcise him

A resident of Kano metropolis, Malam Ali, urgently sought the intervention of a Sharia Court in Rijiyar Lemo to prevent his wife from carrying out her threat to recircumcise him.
Malam Ali revealed to the court that his wife had been persistently threatening him with the prospect of performing his circumcision again.
He further explained that she had gone to the extent of purchasing a sharp knife and keeping it inside their house.
He expressed his unease, emphasizing that he has two wives, making him wary whenever he stays in her residence.
Upon hearing the husband’s complaint, the court, presided over by Malam Sunusi Danbaba Daurawa, decided to adjourn the matter until October 4 for further deliberation.

Speaking to journalists following the court session, the husband disclosed that he had taken it upon himself to check her room and remove the sharp knife to ensure his safety. Despite their generally peaceful coexistence, he remains concerned about this particular issue.
“I can’t comprehend why she’s so insistent on this. I still love my wife, and we generally have a harmonious relationship. This is the only issue causing tension between us, which is why I chose to seek the court’s intervention,” he said.
