Lagos man strangles girlfriend, sleeps with her corpse for days

In a distressing turn of events, a 40-year-old man, Adetomiwa Adeyinka, was apprehended by the police in Ahmadiyya Ijaiye, Ojokoro area of Lagos. Adeyinka stands accused of strangling his girlfriend, Chinonso Okomadu, who had visited his residence. Shockingly, he admitted to sleeping beside her lifeless body.

The incident came to light after Adeyinka falsely informed the police that Okomadu, 36, had fallen ill upon her visit from Ikotun and passed away at a private hospital. However, during questioning, Adeyinka confessed to the heinous crime of strangulation and desecration of her body.

The Lagos State Police Command, through its spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), stressing that justice would be pursued diligently.

In a separate tragic incident in Tabon-tabon, Agege area of Lagos, a 27-year-old peacemaker, Sani Sule, lost his life. Sule was fatally stabbed while attempting to intervene in a fight near his residence.

Kamilu Abdulahi, who reported the incident, claimed that his brother was accidentally stabbed in the neck by one of the fighters while he was trying to separate them. Sadly, the victim was rushed to Orile-Agege General Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

Lamenting these incidents, Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), expressed determination in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Efforts are currently being made to identify the individuals involved in the fatal altercation, as they fled the scene amidst the chaos. Sani Sule was laid to rest in Agege according to Islamic customs.
