Meet first class graduate creating excellent sketches of people in 5 minutes
Story from Hamzat Ibrahim ABAGA
Ahmed Garba is a professional painter who has mastered the skill of creating pencil sketches of people in just five minutes.
Also known as Ahmed the Artist in Abuja, the talented artist spends most of his time at petrol stations, drawing portraits of individuals for small fees.
However, the removal of fuel subsidy and the increase in petrol prices which has caused a sharp decline in the number of cars passing through the petrol stations has also caused a decline in Ahmed’s income.
Despite this setback, Ahmed remains resilient, continuing to hone his craft in various art forms, including landscape, portrait, and abstract arts.

According to BBC News Pidgin, Ahmed’s talents were evident from an early age, and he graduated with first-class honors from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Following his graduation, he worked as a cartoonist for a newspaper before the company went out of business. Since then, Ahmed has been working hard to make ends meet, often traveling from one petrol station to another to create portraits of individuals.
While it’s not easy to create a sketch of a person in motion, Ahmed has managed to perfect his technique, spending no more than five minutes on each drawing.
Although some people appreciate his artwork, others have not been as kind, sometimes even throwing his sketches away.
Despite his struggles, Ahmed remains committed to his dream of living the best life sponsored with his talent.
