Minister of Information and National Orientation unveils official portrait
Alhaji Mohammed Idris has unveiled official portrait as the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation of Nigeria.
Honourable Mohammed Idris, popularly known as Malagi, was born on 2 May 1966, in Niger State.
He was appointed minister by President Bola Tinubu in August 2023.
He is an accomplished media entrepreneur, public relations professional, Publisher, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Blueprint Newspaper.
Alhaji Idris is also the chairman of Abuja based Kings Broadcasting Limited, owners of WE 106.5 FM Abuja, Nigeria.
He was the general secretary of Newspaper Proprietors’ Association of Nigeria and was the All Progressives Congress Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign council director of strategic communications.
As the Minister of Information and National Orientation, he is the head of the Ministry of Information and National Orientation and serves as a member of the Federal Executive Council.
As the head of the ministry, the minister leads the department and acts as a key spokesperson for the executive branch of the federal government.
The minister also leads a number of agencies and parastatals involved with affairs related to the press along with promoting culture and tourism.
