This commitment was reiterated during a courtesy visit to Customs Corporate Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday, 6 September 2023, by the Commandant of the National Institute for Security Studies, Ayodele Adeleke, and his team.

Adeniyi stressed the need for collaboration in strengthening the integrity of customs officers, highlighting that maintaining security in Nigeria requires collective efforts.

He assured the visiting delegation that the Customs Service would continue to prioritise their partnership and support the institute by organising capacity-building workshops.

Members of the Customs Service’s management team and alumni of the institute expressed their gratitude for the valuable opportunities they have received through NISS.

During the visit, Commandant Ayodele Adeleke shared that the Institute is currently conducting research on “Globalisation and Regional Economic Integration, Implications for Sustainable Development in Africa.”

He also emphasised that the training programme discussed during the visit would greatly benefit the Customs Service’s management, officers, and personnel.

Adeleke further stated that the National Institute for Security Studies is dedicated to collaborating with the Nigeria Customs Service in striving for excellence. The Institute serves as a centre for security studies, research, capacity-building, and staff development, among other important functions.

With the Acting Comptroller-General’s renewed commitment and the collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and NISS, the protection of lives and properties of Nigerians will remain a top priority, ensuring a safer and more secure future for the nation.
