Osun police arrest notorious thug over multiple murders, cultism

In an effort to combat crime and protect the safety and well-being of citizens, the Osun State Police Command has successfully apprehended Oyeyemi Ajagungbade Olalekan, a notorious thug known as Emir, who has wreaked havoc in the state for years.

A report by DailyPost revealed that the suspect was arrested by the diligent operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the command.

Emir, a wanted criminal, was taken into custody and subsequently transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

His arrest came after he was declared wanted on multiple charges, including murder, cultism, and armed robbery by the police command.

Recent events leading up to the arrest involved Emir’s brutal attack on an innocent man, leaving him severely injured and in a coma.

The victim’s family reported the incident to the Inspector-General of Police, who promptly ordered the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take Emir into custody.

“He was asked to report to the office of Anti-Kidnapping in Osogbo to settle the matter with his victim and he drove in. He had been arrested before the officers informed the Commissioner of Police that they had an order from the IGP to bring the suspect to Abuja. He was whisked to Abuja in a Hilux,” the source said.

Olalekan had been fingered in the murders of five persons including Oyewale Sherif after the inauguration of Governor Adeleke and the burning alive of one person, Olalekan Waheed.

He was alleged to have have also led thugs to snatch ballot boxes in Boripe, Osogbo and Olorunda local governments during the general elections in the state.

The Osun State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has diligently petitioned the police authorities, raising concerns over Emir’s criminal activities and the physical attacks on its members.

Eyewitnesses have also linked him to the murders of at least five individuals during the recent Osun Osogbo festival.

While the spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, declined to comment on the matter, the arrest of Emir brings a sense of relief to the people of Osun State.
