Police arrest 3 men for killing, harvesting organs of okada rider
In a chilling and distressing incident, the Rivers State Police Command has successfully apprehended three suspects involved in the killing of a young man named Progress Iyogo. The shocking crime took place in the Ogbaraye community, located in the Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state, where the suspects allegedly harvested the victim’s organs.
According to a community source named Otuks, Progress, who worked as an Okada rider and hailed from the Aminigboko community, was transporting goods from Abua Central to his destination when the tragic incident occurred.
The source revealed that an unidentified individual suspected to be involved in ritualistic practices had approached a group of five young men, offering them money in exchange for human body parts. These individuals, referred to as “drug boys,” agreed to the gruesome proposition.

Reportedly, the ritualist had promised the young men over N2 million for the procurement of a tongue and a heart. Tragically, the victim of this heinous crime was an Okada rider who was hurrying to deliver someone’s luggage from Central Abua to Amingboko at around 11 pm.
The incident unfolded along the Emebu/Obrean boundary, where the suspects murdered the man and dismembered certain body parts. This horrifying act occurred on Friday night, and afterwards, the suspects fled the scene. Fortunately, law enforcement was successful in arresting three of the suspects involved in this gruesome crime.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, has affirmed the occurrence of the incident and the subsequent arrests. SP Iringe-Koko stated that the three suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
