Tribunal sacks Beni Lar, declares Vincent Bulus as winner of Langtang constituency
In Plateau State, the National and State House of Assembly Elections Petitions Tribunal has nullified the victory of the PDP candidate for Langtang North/Langtang South Federal constituency, Beni Lar.
Lar, a fifth-term lawmaker, was elected to represent the federal constituency on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party during the February 25 National Assembly poll.
Justice Mohammed Tukur who led the panel in his judgement on Tuesday evening hinged the nullification of Lar’s victory on the failure of her party to conduct a valid nomination of her candidacy to contest the election.

The tribunal therefore announced the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Vincent Bulus as the rightful winner of the National Assembly poll.
Lar’s electoral loss has further opened up the records to show that there are a number of PDP candidates in the past whose elections had been nullified in the state by the tribunal.
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party has kicked against the nullification of the victory of its candidates by the elections petitions tribunal in the state.
While adressing a press conference in Jos on Tuesday, the state chairman of the PDP, Chris Hassan described the judgements of the tribunal as unacceptable and against the will of the people who voted for the party and its candidates during the 2023 general elections.
