Independence: Gov. Buni commends Nigerians’ resilience in ensuring unity
Yobe State Governor, His Excellency Mai Mala Buni, CON, has congratulated Nigerians on the 63rd independence anniversary of the country.

DG, Press and Media Affairs to the governor.
Governor Buni commended Nigerians for their resilience in ensuring a united country, 63 years after its independence despite the challenges it faced.
“Every nation has its peculiar challenges, the commitment of Nigerians to a united and progressive Nigeria has been strong and unshakeable,” he said.
The Governor charged Nigerians not to be deterred by the challenges, “Everyone of us have a role to play in building a united, strong and prosperous nation”.
The governor called for tolerance, accomodation and sacrifice, “We should exploit our diversity to serve as a strength to our unity”.
Governor Buni further said Nigeria’s 24 years of democratic governance has strengthened democracy and provided development.
”We all have a duty and responsibility to make selfless contributions to strengthen the institution for a strong democracy that promotes participation in governance.
He called for support to the federal and state governments to successfully execute their policies and programmes to improve the lives of the people.
The governor assured that his administration would continue to build infrastructure to facilitate the reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery programme of his administration.
“Our administration would support our people to develop a strong and reliable irrigation programme to guarantee food sufficiency and security in the state.
“Government would also enhance empowerment programmes to provide employment opportunities to our people,” he assured.
