17-year-old boy buries brother alive for stealing N1,000
The Kogi State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old boy for allegedly burying his younger brother alive for stealing N1,000.
The incident occurred at the Apamisede community near Army Barracks, in the Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
When asked why he committed the wicked act, the suspect claimed he was only carrying out the directive of his mother who asked him to punish his brother for stealing.
Confirming the arrest, the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, said the boy is in police custody.
“Yes, we are aware of the incident and the boy has been arrested. The investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen,” Aya said.
When caught by neighbours, the suspect, who spoke in pidgin, said, “He thief money. The last time he went to thief money, We dey ask am where he put the money, and I no know how much he thief oh but he said nah N1,000. The last time he stole, nobody beat ham, and nobody touched Ham.”
Further talking, he said, “Nobody send, nah my mother talk say make I punish am,” the elder boy added.
