Why I defiled 11-year-old girl- 80-year-old man
In a shocking incident in Gyel, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, an 80-year-old retired soldier named Peter Ashom has been arrested for allegedly defiling an eleven-year-old girl. During his arrest, Ashom confessed to the crime but claimed that he was “pushed into it by the devil.”
According to the Commissioner of Police, Mr Okoro Julius Alawari, the suspect lured the young girl into his room under the guise of sending her on an errand to buy groundnuts. The girl’s parents reported the incident, and it was revealed that the man threatened to harm her if she spoke about the assault.

While speaking to the press, Ashom admitted his wrongdoing, but pleaded for mercy, stating that it was his first time engaging in such an act and that he was under the influence of the devil. He expressed remorse and vowed to never repeat such actions.
The case is currently under investigation, and the State Commissioner of Police stated that Ashom will be charged to court once the investigation is complete.
