Bandits attack Kaduna highway, kill local hunter, two drivers
In a tragic turn of events, bandits have struck in the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna State, resulting in the loss of three lives.
Local hunter Bashir Unguwar Shekarau met a fatal end when their vehicle came under fire last Wednesday, while two commercial drivers, Mustapha Adamu and Malam Muktar, known as “Teacher,” were gunned down on Saturday afternoon as they returned to Birnin Gwari. Another driver, Auwal Stable, sustained severe injuries, including the loss of an eye, and is currently receiving treatment at the Birnin Gwari hospital.

“The residents of Birnin Gwari have been living in fear due to the relentless violence in the area, which has become a daily ordeal. As a testament to the grim situation, villagers have been forced to organize special funeral prayers nearly every day for individuals whose bodies have gone missing”.
The State Police Command Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan, was unavailable for comment when contacted, citing his attendance at a program.
