Gombe teenager confesses to killing mother of 8 in her residence

In a shocking development, the Gombe State Police Command has paraded an 18-year-old man, Mustapha Adamu Isa (Abbati), who has allegedly confessed to killing Aishatu Abdullahi Adda Damori, a 58-year-old woman. The incident took place last Saturday in her own home.

According to Daily Trust, the mother of eight children was brutally murdered by unknown individuals in her bedroom. The command’s spokesman, ASP Mahid Mu’azu Abubakar, stated that the formal complaint was filed by Muhammad Sani Abdullahi, the son of the deceased. He reported that his mother was mercilessly slaughtered with a knife by an unknown assailant around 09:30 pm.

Following credible intelligence received by the investigative team, headed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, SCID Gombe, the suspect was apprehended on Sunday afternoon.

ASP Abubakar revealed that Mustapha Adamu Isa (Abbati) sneaked into Aishatu Abdullahi’s room in search of a spanner that had been taken from him. Upon her return to the room, she confronted him and asked him to leave. However, he refused, leading to a scuffle that tragically ended with him strangling and stabbing her to death.

During questioning, Abbati, who claimed it was his first time committing such a crime, confessed to his actions. He expressed remorse for killing the mother of his friend. Abbati revealed that he found the murder weapon in her room and used it to repeatedly stab her. He then proceeded to slaughter her and absconded with the spanner, which was later recovered from him.

The suspect also stated that he acted alone and had no support from anyone. He admitted to falsely implicating Idris Abubakar Danjauro, whom he had caused to be fired from the garage where they were once employed together, leaving him unemployed for a year.

The police recovered the spanner, Abbati’s blood-stained shirt, and the murder weapon as crucial pieces of evidence in the case.
