Hamas threatens to kill Israeli hostages in response to unannounced Gaza strikes

Hamas issued a threatening statement on Monday, warning to kill hostages in response to any unannounced airstrikes by the Israeli army targeting Gaza Strip residents.

The Ezzedine al-Qassem Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, declared that “Every targeting of our people without warning will be met with the execution of one of the civilian hostages.”

They further added, “The enemy doesn’t understand the language of humanity and ethics, so we’ll address them in the language that they understand.”

In recent days, Israel has launched a series of intense airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, a response to a surprise attack by Hamas militants who infiltrated southern Israeli towns.

The attack resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people. The militants engaged in the act with a spray of bullets, taking cover amidst a barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip.

After the assault, they retreated back to the enclave, taking around 100 hostages with them.

Providing some relief amidst this dire situation, an Israeli military spokesperson confirmed on Monday that the details of approximately 30 hostages have been communicated to their families.
