How father beat school teacher to death for punishing son over stealing
In a tragic turn of events on Wednesday, 18th October, 2023, Sunday Onyisi Ufah, a dedicated teacher at Alihami Secondary School in Agbor, Delta State, met a horrifying end.
Ufah, who had recently disciplined a group of students for stealing palm wine from a nearby farm, was allegedly flogged to death by an enraged parent.
The sequence of events leading to this shocking incident began when Ufah took action against the students involved in the theft, responding to a complaint from an old farmer. School authorities identified the culprits, and Ufah was tasked with administering discipline.

However, one of the students ran home and informed his father about the punishment. The father, in a fit of anger, called Ufah, threatening him for daring to discipline his child. The enraged parent promised to “deal ruthlessly” with the teacher.
Shortly after the threatening phone call, the father arrived at the school armed with a seemingly enchanted cane. A heated confrontation ensued between him and Ufah. Tragically, Ufah succumbed to the relentless beating, collapsing on the spot.
He was rushed to Central Hospital, Agbor, but was pronounced dead on arrival. The suspect, the angry parent, and his son were swiftly apprehended and detained at the Agbor Divisional Police Station as the investigation into this heart-wrenching incident continues.
This incident has left the family of the deceased and the Ika Grammar School Old Boys Association, of which Ufah was an active member, in a state of mourning. In an online obituary announcement, the association, which also includes the Principal of Alihami Secondary School as a member of the 1982 set, called for a thorough investigation and justice for the grieving family.
As of now, the Delta State Police Command has not issued an official response to this tragic incident.
