Kano Govt to upgrade facilities at Hisbah board headquarters
The Kano State Government is planning to upgrade facilities at the Hisbah board headquarters to provide a conducive atmosphere for the actualisation of its mandate, according to Governor Abba Kabir-Yusuf.
The Governor made this statement during an unscheduled visit to the board’s headquarters on Monday.
“The visit was to assess the state of the structures and facilities at the headquarters for upgrading,” said Kabir-Yusuf.
Additionally, he noted that most of the structures and materials were dilapidated, which is a major setback to the board’s activities.

The Hisbah board is responsible for promoting good morals in society, as well as preventing immorality and bad deeds among the people.
The Governor believes that there is a need to provide the necessary facilities at the headquarters to motivate the staff for better output.
During the visit, Kabir-Yusuf commended the board for its dedication in eradicating societal vices across the state.
Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim-Daurawa, the Commander-General of the board, also praised the Governor for the visit.
Ibrahim-Daurawa noted that preparations had reached an advanced stage for the state mass wedding, with 1,800 intending couples shortlisted out of the 4,000 that applied.
The couples are undergoing medical screening as part of the requirements for the wedding.
