Major Twist: Husband of slain Maiduguri housewife freed as fresh suspect apprehended
In a significant twist of events, Mr. Adam Alhaji Bukar, the husband of the late Fatima Alhaji Bukar, a 20-year-old housewife brutally killed in Maiduguri, has been released by the police.
He was arrested last week as the primary suspect by the Borno State Command of the Nigerian Police Force.
The police have not officially commented on this development. However, a family source informed our reporter that another suspect has been arrested and is now considered the prime suspect.

The release of Mr. Adam Alhaji Bukar appears to be a direct consequence of the arrest of this new suspect and the emergence of additional information.
According to our source, the new suspect was apprehended while attempting to sell the deceased’s phone at the Maiduguri GSM Village along Kano road.
“We were informed yesterday that her phone has been found, and it was taken to her husband, who is in detention, to confirm if the phone belongs to his wife, and he confirmed it,” the family member stated.
It remains unclear how the new suspect was arrested, but it is possible that he was tracked down by security operatives or caught while attempting to sell the stolen phone, which ultimately led to his arrest.
During the attack, the assailants not only took her phone but also the phone’s box. On further investigation, both the phone and the phone’s box were recovered from the suspect.
As of the time of filing this report, the Borno State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the arrest and the ongoing investigation.
