Rivers assembly set on fire over threat to impeach Gov Fubara

In a shocking turn of events, the chamber of the Rivers State House of Assembly has been set on fire. The incident occurred as a plot to impeach Governor Siminilayi Fubara was unfolding.

According to sources, the arsonist gained access to the chamber on Sunday night and ignited the fire. Fortunately, the timely intervention of the fire service prevented the flames from spreading to the entire Assembly complex.

Efforts to contact the Rivers State Police Command Public Relation Officer, SP Grace Iringe Koko, were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.

Security has been heightened at the complex, and firefighters are working diligently to control the inferno.
