Wike unveiled the plan to construct 30 kilometers of roads, with a commitment to completing five roads in each of the six area councils by May 29, 2024. The primary goal is to alleviate pressure on the Federal Capital City (FCC) and extend development to rural communities in the FCT.

In his words, Minister Wike stated, “President Bola Tinubu had directed that at least five-kilometer roads must be constructed in each of the six area councils before May 29. This is part of his renewed hope agenda to ensure that people in rural communities are not left out in the development efforts of the current administration.”

He assured that his administration would collaborate with all stakeholders, regardless of political affiliations, to contribute to the FCT’s development.

Former Senator Philips Aduda commended President Tinubu for appointing an FCT resident as a minister and praised Minister Wike for his appointment and commendable work.

He particularly acknowledged the establishment of the Civil Service Commission for FCT, the removal of FCT from the TSA, and the creation of the Women Affairs Secretariat to address women’s concerns.
